I’m Patricia French Crilly and I have been a registered nurse for more than 30 years. 
From a personal perspective, I was a 2 pack a day smoker for 16 years. I stopped smoking 17 years ago.  Having been on that side of the fence, I know how difficult it can be to stop smoking.  I tried many times over the years and failed.  I failed miserably.  I felt like such a loser. 

I understand the pull of the nicotine and the compulsion to light up.  I understand the emotional ties to cigarettes, the difficulty of letting go of my “friend”.  I felt helpless and out of control -- held hostage by this deadly habit. 

I, truly, wanted to stop smoking, even though I was afraid.  Afraid of failing again.  Afraid of gaining weight.  Afraid the cravings would come back to haunt me…to taunt me.  I did it.  I beat this addictive and deadly habit and I have never looked back.  If I could stop smoking then you can stop smoking too.

For years, I have been helping people just like you to stop smoking.  I searched and studied and tried all kinds of methods and techniques to improve the success rate for my clients. 

I have interviewed hundreds of smokers and ex-smokers to find out why they started, why they couldn’t or wouldn’t quit, what worked and what didn’t work in their quest to become nonsmokers.

 So, what do we need in order to live this joyful life…to be happy?  There are only three things that we could ever need or want in life.  Those three things are Love, Health and Prosperity.  Can you think of anything that you could ever possibly want or need that does not fit into one of these three areas?

I can just hear you now, “What has this got to do with smoking?”  Well, smoking interferes with…

Y Love…that is, relationships with family, friends and co-workers.  People are always complaining about the tobacco smell and nagging you to stop smoking (because they care about you)

z Health…you are all too aware of the deadly effect smoking has on you and those exposed to your second-hand smoke.  The Surgeon General warns you on every pack of cigarettes you smoke

$$$ Prosperity…not only are cigarettes expensive, there are also hidden costs such as, higher insurance premiums, increased health care costs and increased sick time from work just to name a few

There truly is no upside to smoking.  If you think there are any benefits to smoking that are not outweighed by the harmful effects…you are fooling yourself...BIG TIME!!!

You Can STOP SMOKING without the Cravings, the Mood Changes or Weight Gain!  It Doesn’t Matter If You Have Been Smoking for 6 Months or 60 Years.  It Doesn’t Matter If You Smoke 5 Cigarettes a Day or 5 Packs a Day.

Now, I am sure that you have seen advertisements for programs or tried products that offer a quick fix and a 100% guarantee for permanent success.  Now that does happen -- maybe about 5-10% of the time and that’s just great.

But what about the other 90-95% of you who have invested a hefty sum and don’t stop smoking or start smoking again 6 days or 6 months or even 6 years down the road?  Now, some stop smoking specialists think that suggesting anything less than 100% permanent success implants a seed doubt. 

Well, the truth is, for some folks, it takes several attempts to stop smoking before finally quitting for good.  I am just being a realist -- a pragmatist. 

Sometimes things happen in our lives that cause us to go back to our “old friend”, the “crutch” or we have some misguided need to punish ourselves or we fool ourselves into thinking that just one cigarette won’t hurt.  You know the deal -- you are having one of the top 10 worst days of your life -- so you bum a cigarette and then another and another and before you know it -- you buy your own pack and you are hooked once again just like before. 

                                                                                                           

Now, you don’t need to beat yourself up about it and call yourself a failure.  You’re human.  It also doesn’t mean that whatever method you used to stop smoking didn’t work or that it wore off.  It just means that something is going on in your life that made you vulnerable and you fell back into an old pattern of behavior. 


You know that smoking didn’t solve any problems back then and it sure isn’t helping your situation right now.  Also, know this, you made a conscious decision to start smoking again -- nothing stopped working or wore off…all excuses aside…you simply decided to smoke that cigarette of your own free will.

                                                                                                                                                                     

 Now Almost Everyone Who Attempts to STOP SMOKING Does it The HARD Way!

Let's take a look at quitting COLD TURKEY.  Now Cold Turkey is a function of the conscious mind.  In order to not smoke, you have to think about not smoking.  And what happens when you're thinking about not smoking.  You're thinking about smoking. 


When you
CUT DOWN GRADUALLY, your focus and your attention is always on a number of cigarettes that you are smoking or not smoking.  So once again you're thinking about smoking. 


As for
NICOTINE REPLACEMENT THERAPY or NRT, it just doesn't make any sense at all to me.  What is the benefit of delivering the very poison that causes your addiction to cigarettes, via a different route?  NRT addresses only a part of the problem and not very well at that. 

For sure, we all want the “quick fix” or the “magic pill”.  Being a nurse, I was schooled in the philosophy that surgery and medication could fix just about anything.  I was also taught to embrace the concept and belief in the Mind/Body/Spirit connection as means of self-healing.  So it just makes sense to employ a holistic approach that takes you into account as a uniquely whole and complex individual.
